Jordan Messina-Sommer

“As a former athlete, I struggled with many injuries. Physical therapy not only helped my body heal, it helped me restore confidence within myself. It is my goal to provide my patients with the proper tools and knowledge needed to maximize their function and truly understand how their body works. I strive to provide a collaborative relationship that is not only personalized but also goal oriented. I truly believe that a good working relationship between clinician and patient is what facilitates successful outcomes.”

Jordan is a Huntington Beach native who grew up playing competitive soccer. She was first introduced to the field of Physical Therapy after undergoing an ACL reconstruction following a High School injury. It was during that time that she discovered her intrigue of the human body and the field of physical therapy. As she was rehabilitating from her surgery, Jordan began to volunteer in her High School athletic training department. She spent time traveling with the teams and assisting with pre and post-game rehab. This positive experience sparked her drive to pursue a career in Physical Therapy.

Jordan attended California State University of Fullerton for four years where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Kinesiology and a minoring in Clinical Exercise Science. During her time there, Jordan acquired an internship in the campus physical therapy and sports rehabilitation center where she assisted in the rehab for the collegiate athletes.

She went on to achieve her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, Ca. Jordan is manual therapy trained and has had the opportunity to work in out-patient orthopedic clinics in Texas and Colorado where she received extensive training in orthopedic rehab and return to sport protocols.

Jordan enjoys being back home where she can spend time with her family and friends.
Some of her personal hobbies include snowboarding in the winter and wakeboarding in the summer, while also cycling and weight-training year-round.

Jordan is excited to be a part of the HBPTS team where she can continue to work with quality professionals who have a passion and drive to help others.
