Amy Amelotte
Physical Therapist
Amy Amelotte began her career with HBPTS as a volunteer in the early 90's. She returned to HBPTS as a student intern in 1996, two years after being accepted at CSU's Physical Therapy program. Amy graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, and worked for the next fours years at St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange.

During her four years at St. Joseph's, Amy worked for two years in their Transitional Care Unit treating a wide variety of patients. She worked extensively with patients to restore their strenght and functional mobilility; trained family members how to assist; and performed home safety assessments to ensure a safe environment.
Amy also designed and implemented a tranfer training program for the TCU, training staff in proper patient transfer techniques.
Amy transferred to the Orthopedics Unit and treated patients post-cerival and lumbar fusion and laminectomy surgery, total hip, knee and shoulder surgery; and those with debilitating leg, ankle and foot injuries. Amy was also an instructor for the pre-op total hip and knee classes, educating patients on pre-op exercises, post-op surgical precautions, and rehab expectations.
Amy focused her continuing education courses on developing her orthopedic manual therapy skills, while working both in-patient and outpatient orthopedics.
Over the last four years, Amy has enjoyed working with the wonderful staff at HBPTS and has expanded her manual therapy skills by treating a wide variety of patients. She is very personable and caring therapist, dedicated to her patients and to assisting them in acheiving their rehab goals. She believes that a patient should be treated as a whole person, not just a treatment diagnosis and attempts to address the physical, emotional and social aspects of her patients' pain/condition in their treatment. Amy takes pride in her work and in the positive impact that she has made in her patient's lives.
